TAMPA, Fla. — As generative AI turns the modern job market into a high-volume numbers game, two tech industry veterans are launching a platform designed to bring authentic human perspective back to hiring.

MakeHello, a job application workspace founded by sisters and product designers Luki and Marta Guerra, launched to address a growing problem: the dual automated arms race between AI-generated resumes and ATS screening algorithms.

Moving Beyond the Automated “Numbers Game”

In recent years, job seekers have increasingly relied on AI to blast out hundreds of applications, while recruiters use automated Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to filter out the noise. According to MakeHello’s founders, the interaction leaves both candidates and employers feeling disconnected.

“Hiring has gotten more automated on both sides,” said Luki Guerra, co-founder of MakeHello. “Candidates lean on AI to apply; employers lean on algorithms to screen. The result is faster, but not smarter. Talented people are still overlooked, companies still miss good fits, and both sides spend more time moving through applications that were never truly aligned.”

Rather than generating synthetic work histories or writing exaggerated claims, MakeHello aims to use AI strictly as an supportive tool. The platform converts uploaded resumes into a custom, hosted web portfolio (termed a “Hello site”) that highlights actual experience, project case studies, and personal branding.

Verified Human Authenticity

A key feature aimed at recruiters is the platform’s authenticity marker. Each portfolio site verifies that the content is human-written before publishing, giving hiring managers confidence that a applicant’s credentials haven’t been fabricated by a large language model (LLM).

“When MakeHello finds a gap between your resume and a job you want, it doesn’t make up the missing experience,” explained co-founder Marta Guerra. “It shows you what’s missing and gives you the chance to fill in the gaps for that specific job or industry. That’s the difference between AI that speaks for you and AI that helps you speak for yourself.”

Key Platform Capabilities

The platform offers a suite of job management and application tools:

  • Interactive Portfolios: Conversational onboarding that generates personalized portfolio sites hosted at custom URLs.
  • Role-Specific Tailoring: Automatically analyzes job postings against candidate profiles to score matches, flag skill gaps, and optimize resumes for ATS compatibility without hallucinating experience.
  • Recruiter Analytics: Tracks engagement, views, and reading time on candidate portfolios, including unique share links that notify applicants when a recruiter opens their profile.
  • Application Hub: Organizes ongoing applications (applied, interviewing, offered) and provides downloadable application packages (.zip) containing tailored resumes, cover letters, and follow-up notes.
  • AI Integration: Supports Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations, allowing tools like Claude to act as a personal recruiter using verified profile data.

Veteran Product Design Leadership

The self-funded startup is backed by extensive background experience in user interface and recruitment tech. Luki Guerra brings over 15 years of design leadership across organizations including Citrix, Office Depot, and USC. Marta Guerra brings over a decade of expertise designing AI products and enterprise ATS systems at Amazon, ServiceNow, and UKG.
